Adding a puppy to your family is a very exciting time for everyone. We have put together this page as a resource for you and your new adventure. A puppy goes through alot of changes in the first 12 weeks of life. So it is very important to treat them like a new baby. Between four and eight weeks of age a puppy goes through it's first shots, introduction of food, weaning, leaving their siblings, ect. All these things can be stressful to a puppy and lead to a weaker immune system. It is very important to keep your new puppy home with you as much as possible for the first two weeks to a month of your pups arrival to keep him or ner healthy. Here are some pointers to help you out!

*When feeding your puppy you need to keep an eye on how much the puppy intakes each day. To do this more easily only set out a practical amount of food. Don't give him or her more than they can possibly eat in a sitting. This will make it easier to monitor how much the puppy is actually consuming in a day. We strictly use Dry dogfood. This makes it easier for you as new owners as well as us. We currently feed ProPac Superpremium dog foods. The Performace puppy is our choice until 9 months of age. As an adult we feed the Adult Mini Chunk. For more infomation about ProPack pet foods please visit their website www.propacpetfood.com. We choose and reccomend dry foods as opposed to wet because it is healthier for a dogs teeth as well as their digestion.

*When bringing a new puppy home they are going to have a weaker immune system and because of this they are going to be more susseptable to colds and Kennel Cough. These are two common and minor things that a puppy can catch and is very easily treated. We will not cover either if your puppy would happen to get either one. The best thing is to check with your vet for a treatment. We do vaccinate for Kennel Cough, but there are more strains than the vaccine covers, so unfortunately the puppy can still get this. Kennel cough will go away with time, but can also be treated with antibiotics. For more information or with questions please call.

*When getting a new puppy in the winter time you need to watch how much you expose the puppy to extreme cold temperatures. At this time they are also more susseptable to Colds and pnemonia. Potty training a puppy can also be more of a challenge. Some choose to paper train their puppies to prevent them from getting sick.

*The heat of the summer can also be hard on a bulldog. Because of the snub nose they can't handle the heat as well as other dogs. Please keep your bulldog out of the sun and heat durring the hot summer months. Bulldogs also aren't good swimmers, so if you own a pool or live waterside please keep this in mind for the safety of your pet.

*Potty training your puppy can be a challenge. We recommend training your puppy with a wire crate. Please visit the following page for crate training advise! http://www.midwesthomes4pets.com/Information/HowToCrateTrain.aspx

*We vaccinate our puppies with the following vaccines at the appropriate times needed as recommended by our veterinarian: Neopar, Progard KC, Progard 5. We also do a series of deworming, as well as Albon and Metronidazole. All this is to keep our puppies healthy.

*Some other items that you may choose to purchase for your new puppy is Toys, Pet Beds, Collars, ect. We plan to put our recommended items on our site in the neer future, so please keep checking back!
